16º Congreso Sindical Mundial

Se celebrará en abril de 2011 en Atenas,capital de Grecia. El 16º Congreso Sindical Mundial de la Federación Sindical Mundial analizará la situación actual en todos los sectores y en todos los niveles. Examinará los progresos de la FSM, los éxitos y fracasos, las nuevas tareas que tenemos por delante para defender los intereses de los trabajadores, los derechos y libertades sindicales y las causas justas de todos los pueblos y naciones de todo el mundo.

La FSM cuenta en sus filas con 200 sindicatos nacionales y sectoriales en 110 países, con ¡72 millones de miembros! La actual fuerza y el potencial de la nueva FSM no residen únicamente en las cifras, sino que se encuentran sobre todo en sus posiciones y su acción, en su estrategia, su táctica e iniciativas.

Se basan principalmente en el gran papel de las oficinas regionales en Asia y el Pacífico, África, Europa, América Latina y Oriente Medio. Se basan en las importantes iniciativas militantes de los sindicatos nacionales afiliados y las organizaciones sectoriales de la gran familia clasista de las Uniones Internacionales Sindicales (UIS) de la Construcción, el Metal, los Transportes, la Energía, los Servicios Públicos, la Agroalimentación, las Finanzas, la Educación y los Hoteles y Turismo.

16th World Trade Union Congress

World Trade Union Congress to be held in April 2011 in Athens, the capital of Greece.

The 16th World Trade Union Congress will analyze the current situation in all sectors and at all levels. It will examine the progress of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), the successes and failures, the new tasks ahead, in defending workers’ interests, trade union rights and freedoms and dealing with the just concerns of all peoples and nations the world over.

The WFTU is has in its ranks 200 national and sectoral trade unions in 110 countries with 72 million members! The current strength and the potential of the new WFTU is not only in figures. It lies mainly in its positions and action, in its strategy, its tactics and initiatives. It is mainly based on the significant role of the Regional Offices in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

It is based on the important militant initiatives of the national trade unions’ affiliates and the branch organizations of the big class-oriented family of the Trade Union Internationals (TUIs) of Construction, Metal, Transport, Energy, Public Services, Agroalimentary, Finance, Education and Hotels and Tourism.
